Experience logistics!

The new logistics exhibition in the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne.

Together with the Swiss industry associations, the Verkehrshaus has all members of SWISS SUPPLY and many committed companies and supporters “Experience Logistics!” developed and implemented. The exhibition has been in operation since spring 2020. Since March 1, 2021, the exhibition has been showing additional new attractions: a shunting game, the new hydrogen exhibition, the exciting parcel loading game and the new staging of the goods transport ship DS Rigi are definitely worth a visit in 2021 and 2022!

Nothing in the world moves any more without logistics.

But what does it take to guarantee the movement of goods globally and in Switzerland? What does a simple order on the Internet trigger? A new focus exhibition in the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne offers exciting insights.

Get on a pedalo and explore the earth in miniature with the largest container ports on the water basin in the middle of the Verkehrshaus-Arena. You walk around the “Pallettenhafen”, a work of art with around 1 standardized pallets, all of which are made from Swiss wood. In the middle of the Museum of Transport, various containers are being converted into interactive exhibition rooms and show, for example, the impressive journey of a banana from a farmer in Costa Rica to the shelf in a supermarket in Switzerland.

In the road traffic hall you will discover how an automated small parts warehouse works. With scanning and order picking stations, you can slip into the skin of a «logistician» yourself. Get an overview of the supply chains with the help of a miniature model. In addition, virtual reality technology with the virtual reality chairs turns logistics into an experience. The attractive job profiles offered by the logistics industry can also be discovered playfully and interactively on a large multimedia wall in the SUPPLY GAMES.
