That was the 7th Swiss Supply Chain Hall of Fame Benefit Gala

On the occasion of the 7th benefit gala Swiss Supply Chain Hall of Fame, Urs Grütter, owner and CEO of Stöcklin Logistik AG, was inducted into the Swiss Logistics Hall of Honor on September 21, 2022 in the Swiss Museum of Transport - in the presence of 300 invited guests - as the 16th member. The jury representative Dr. Peter Acél presented the honorary certificates. And also Swiss Supply receives a donation for his "image campaign project".

The laudator, Ms. National Councilor and President of the Basel Chamber of Commerce, Elisabeth Schneider-Schneiter, paid tribute Urs Grutter as the person who developed Stöcklin Logistik AG into a leading global provider of sophisticated logistics systems. The Swiss Stöcklin Group has been a competent partner for innovative and customer-specific logistics solutions worldwide since 1934. As an internationally experienced system integrator of intralogistics systems, Stöcklin accompanies its customers from planning and project planning to the delivery of complete turnkey systems in the field of warehouse logistics and automated warehouse management. With its systems and products, which are mainly developed and produced in-house, the company is able to offer conveyor and storage systems for a wide variety of load carriers and industrial trucks, which contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of customers in the long term and sustainably. Today, the company is successful with various subsidiaries abroad and currently employs 450 people, including over three hundred in Switzerland alone.

Patrick Geisselhardt, Managing Director of the umbrella organization Swiss Recycling, gave the laudatory speech in advance Gustav Thommen (1905-1988) posthumously as the 15th member. This election was officially announced in the spring. Gustav Thommen is considered a Swiss recycling pioneer. The scrap trade he opened in Basel in 1936 was the nucleus of the development of a modern and forward-looking business model that focused on the recycling of raw materials and the raw material cycle. At the same time, it was the origin of an internationally successful group of companies. Today, the Thommen Group consists of the brands Thommen, Metallum and Immark, operates internationally at 25 locations in five countries and employs around 650 people worldwide.

The President of the Swiss Logistics Foundation, Dr. Beat M. Duerler invited former Federal Councilor Adolf Ogi and Roland Brack to the stage for a lively talk. With this year's gala prize, the foundation supports two charitable projects: On the one hand, the "Training in Logistics 2.0 and Deliveries" project of the "réalise" organization in Geneva. For more than 35 years, this has been successfully training applicants with little or no qualifications in various sectors with a high worker density. It is a Swiss pioneer in the development of short training courses tailored to the various employment sectors, and in this context trains between 50 and 70 people a year in the logistics sector. And on the other hand, the initiative "National Image Campaign for Supply-Logistics-Transport" of the new association Swiss Supply supports. This serves to improve the level of awareness and reputation of our care services in the public and especially among young people. In doing so, joint measures are taken in a targeted manner against the shortage of skilled workers in our important systemically important economic sector.
